    Hello, I am Alexa Sherrill. I am a sophomore at Florida State University majoring in education. When I first started here, I was originally a nursing major, but as many of us do I changed my major. I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida where I grew up with my two brothers (I’m a middle child) and my dad. 
     In high school, I used technology on a daily basis. I had photography all four years of high school and this allowed me to become very familiar with technology. I had to use a MacBook every day and learn to use all the Microsoft office tools as well as photoshop. I also had to run a blog for my photography class where I had to submit weekly posts with pictures and descriptions.
     I like to use my planner to help keep myself on track and know exactly when I can reach my goals. I also like to take fun approaches on assignments to give myself some creative freedom, which makes it easier to absorb information. In addition, I like to carve out breaks in between work for classes so I don’t stress myself too much. Most of all I use my peers to help with things I don’t understand or collaborate with them for a better understanding or different approach.

     I have been using MS Word for as long as I can remember. Even in elementary school we had a computer class that taught us how to use all the MS Office tools. I honestly prefer Microsoft; their tools are easy to use and carry across all platforms. Even using a mac, I am able to get access to all the MS tools I need, and FSU offers in for free so why not take advantage.        I feel that all of the ISTE standards are super important in their own ways, but I feel the most important roll is the roll of the learner. Being a learner is being able to adapt, take change head on, and make yourself continually better. I think this is an important characteristic because the world is always changing and with that comes the need to learn so having this role is not only beneficial to the student but to the educator as well.       Copyright is the exclusive right for an owner of material to reproduce and/or allow others to do so as well. Fair use is kinda like copyright except you are modifying the content in some way to make it original. Within the classroom setting, it can be hard to always have to make new lessons and so many draw on the ideas of others. To make sure that I am maintaining copyright and fair use laws I would make sure that all the content and materials I use are being shared publically and that if it isn't I am modifying that content in a way to make it original.     Academic dishonesty is becoming a huge problem, especially during the pandemic when everything is online. Teachers have tried finding ways around this with tools such as honor lock but I feel a simple solution to this would be helping students not only learn the material but grasp the concepts in a way that they don't feel like they have to cheat.  1. I actually really enjoyed the web design assignment. I was able to learn how to add an interactive calendar and how to create a cohesive layout. I had trouble with fitting things in the way I liked but overall the assignment taught me a lot. I think it taught me how to make a website so in the future when I am a teacher I will be able to make a useful and easy-going website. http://sherrillclass.weebly.com/ 2. I am really not a big fan of Diigo. The website is good in concept however the layout is confusing. The page we use looks cluttered to me and sometimes just flat out confuses me. It was easy to use but just not worth the hassle for me. I probably won't be using this website in the future.  3.
