I have been using MS Word for as long as I can remember. Even in elementary school we had a computer class that taught us how to use all the MS Office tools. I honestly prefer Microsoft; their tools are easy to use and carry across all platforms. Even using a mac, I am able to get access to all the MS tools I need, and FSU offers in for free so why not take advantage. I feel that all of the ISTE standards are super important in their own ways, but I feel the most important roll is the roll of the learner. Being a learner is being able to adapt, take change head on, and make yourself continually better. I think this is an important characteristic because the world is always changing and with that comes the need to learn so having this role is not only beneficial to the student but to the educator as well. Also being able to relate to the students on some level makes the whole learning process seem more personable and less robotic. ...

Hello, I am Alexa Sherrill. I am a sophomore at Florida State University majoring in education. When I first started here, I was originally a nursing major, but as many of us do I changed my major. I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida where I grew up with my two brothers (I’m a middle child) and my dad. In high school, I used technology on a daily basis. I had photography all four years of high school and this allowed me to become very familiar with technology. I had to use a MacBook every day and learn to use all the Microsoft office tools as well as photoshop. I also had to run a blog for my photography class where I had to submit weekly posts with pictures and descriptions. I like to use my planner to help keep myself on track and know exactly when I can reach my goals.
